Grant Hennington
PT, DPT

Grant grew up in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, where attended Elk River High School. He went on to the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, where he played basketball and earned his bachelors degree in exercise science in 2009. After suffering from numerous ankle injuries, Grant decided to pursue a career in physical therapy and enrolled in the University of Minnesota Program in Physical Therapy. He graduated this past June and decided to make the move to Washington because of his love of the outdoors.

During Grant’s education he has had the opportunity to work in a variety of physical therapy settings. His first clinical internship was spent at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, where he helped rehabilitate individuals with conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and vestibular dysfunction. Next, Grant interned at Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon, where he split time between outpatient and acute care, as well as getting to work in the Joint Replacement Institute, rehabilitating individuals following total hip and knee replacements. Grant then interned at OSI Physical Therapy in Shoreview, Minnesota, where he worked in a typical outpatient orthopedic setting. Finally, Grant fulfilled his last clinical internship at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, where he worked in the outpatient department, helping to treat children with conditions such as torticollis, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, and idiopathic toe walking.

Throughout graduate school, Grant also served as an instructor for a program helping athletes return to sport following knee surgery. Grant is excited to get started at Lake Washington Physical Therapy. He is passionate about the profession and enjoys helping individuals understand how the human body works. He enjoys the opportunity to help a wide variety of individuals that an outpatient orthopedic clinic provides.

Though Minnesota will always be considered home, Grant is excited about experiencing all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. His interests include hiking, running, biking, kayaking, basketball, and just about any outdoor activity. He will remain a Minnesota sports fan even with his new area code.
